“It’s remained a little while” since we last heard anything about the Anthem, and those aren’t my words from Anthem global communal executive Jesse Anderson, who released the announcement of today’s update with a response that the wheels of improvement sometimes turn very slowly.
And also in methods that are solid to see, as this update is primarily under the hood update that sets the table for better and bigger things in the future. Highpoints include advancements to the scope and map in Free play mode, a trinity of new Emerald Abyss Legendary Missions, a new UI, the gathering of location-based lore to charging screens, and reachable via the B key, to allow players to communicate non-verbally with each other and express themselves via emotes.
On the bug-fix side, an issue with the ALT key not required correctly has been fixed, looking away from connections while in a Javelin will no lengthier cancel the collaboration, and a bug that prohibited stack status effects are applied to competitors being detonated for combos has been cleared up.
Javelin capabilities have also been planned:
Interceptor
- The Base damage of Collection Source has been enlarged from 110 to 135
- The Base damage of Wraith Strike has been enlarged from 250 to 315
- The Base damage of Pointed Glaive has been increased from 550 to 605
- The Base damage of Plasma Space has been enlarged from 110 to 210
Colossus
- Base damage of Burst Filling has been increased from 300 to 400
- Base damage of Flak Cannon has been enlarged from 42 to 60
- Base damage of Masterwork Flak Cannon (Black Powder) has been enlarged from 52.5 to 75
Ranger
- The Base damage of Blast Missile has been enlarged from 220 to 310
- The Base damage of Masterwork Blast Missile (Argo’s Mace) has been enlarged from 275 to 387.5
Storm:
- Base damage of Flame Burst has been enlarged from 150 to 260
- Base damage of Masterwork Flame Burst (Venomous Blaze)has been increased from 225 to 390
- Base damage of Arc Burst has been augmented from 300/150 to 375/185
There are many changes than just those but on the whole, it’s a fixer-upper – the full patch notes.
More interesting the update is what comes next. There’s still no discussion about what we can expect the time-limited, the arrival of the Cataclysm, the world-changing event meant to transition Anthem from Act 1 to Act 2, but there’s been a change in how it’s going to be rolled out. Instead of, Oh no, the Calamity is upon us! as it should be with proper world-enders, BioWare will open it first on a public test server, “which will allow you to see the content as it is being established and gives you the capability to offer feedback, Anderson wrote.
While this won’t directly solve all current glitches, we want to continue to hear from you as we make enhancements to Anthem—and the PTS is a great way to do that.
