How to repair Epfwwfp.sys, mfewfpk.sys Blue Screen Error in Windows 10?


If you suddenly come across a Blue Screen error that point out to either the epfwwfp.sys and mfewfpk.sys files, then this post might help. Both of these documents are created by third-party software. The epfwwfp.sys is created by the ESET Antivirus and mfewfpk.sys file is created by the McAfee security software. These files are outstanding files and sometimes it blocks in upgrading Windows 10.

Method 1 – Eliminate the epfwwfp.sys file
You can try to eliminate the epfwwfp.sys file using Command Prompt. To do so, discuss to the following steps:
  • Right click on the Start button and have a click on the option of Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu to open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
  • Next, Enter the following command and click on the Enter button to delete the epfwwfp.sys file:
DEL /F /S /Q /A “%systemroot%\System32\drivers\epfwwfp.sys”
  • After the scan is completed, restart your device and see if it fixed the Blue Screen error.
Method 2 – Eliminate the mfewfpk.sys file
Eliminate the mfewfpk.sys file using CMD.
  • First, have a right click on the Start button and click on the option of Command Prompt from the menu to open Command Prompt with admin privileges.
  • After, type the following command-click on the “Enter” to delete the epfwwfp.sys file:
DEL /F /S /Q /A “%systemroot%\System32\drivers\mfewfpk.sys”
  • Once the scan is completed, restart your device and see if it fixed the Stop error.
Method 3  Run the Blue Screen Troubleshooter
  • Click on the Window + I keys to open the Settings panel.
  • Click on the option of Update and Security > Troubleshoot.
  • From there, opt the option called “Blue Screen” on your right-hand side and then click on the option of Run the troubleshooter button to run the Blue Screen Troubleshooter and then follow the next on-screen options
Method 4 – Run the DISM tool
  • Open the Command Prompt window with admin privileges.
  • Then enter the commands and ensure to click on right after you type each one of them:
    • exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
  • Do not close the window if the procedure takes a while as it will probably take  some minutes to finish.
Method 5 – Use the Advanced System Repair program
Execute a scan of the full device using ASR. To do so, follow the instructions below.
  • Switch on your device and reboot it
  • The BIOS screen will be exhibited, but if Windows pops up instead, reboot your device and try again.
  • Once you’re on the BIOS screen, press F8 again and again, by showing the Advanced Option.
  • To navigate the Advanced Option use the arrow keys and chooses the Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Windows will now load the Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Press and hold both Windows key and R Key.
  • The Windows Run Box will be shown up on the display.
  • Enter the URL address in the Run dialogue box and then click on Enter Button
  • After that, it will download the program.
  • Once the installation process is finished, run the ASR to execute a full system scan.
  • After the scan is completed click on the button Fix, Clean and Optimize Now.
